I was once a Evangelical Christian. I did the whole laying on of hands, speaking in tongues and general spouting of hate. Of course I didn't realize that is what I was doing. I thought what I was doing was spreading love. I consider myself blessed that I was able to break free of the bondage of religion and can now express my true self.
A great man once said, "You must be the change that you want to see in the world." I hope to change every day.
I was just debating this in my head before I pressed the next button. Does having same sex relations without deciding I am strictly homosexual make me homosexual or does it just make me sexually promiscuous or bi? I'm being serious. I think that's what Michael wants people to ponder too based on this comic.
I think this follows the train of thought of the last comic. Which I like because it tells us not to label people or assume they are this or that, which is something that happens a lot.
Not sure how the author would view it, but I'd make mention that I don't believe a Christian is really a Christian unless he or she is trying to follow the teachings of Christ. Trying, but not expecting perfection here. A lot of Christian people don't even try to live up to their namesake and it just makes Jesus look bad. I had a conversation with this one guy once, a nice guy I'm sure once you get to know him, who kept arguing that Hitler followed the teachings of Christ. I'm not sure how he came to that conclusion since Christ taught peace and love and gave his life to try to save the Jewish people while Hitler did the complete opposite. His argument was based on Hitler being a member of the Catholic church. So, case in point. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian person, nor does eating vegetables make one a vegetarian or making love to the same sex make one a lesbian. Although actual Christians, vegetarians, and lesbians would also do that, there's simply more to it than that.
