I was once a Evangelical Christian. I did the whole laying on of hands, speaking in tongues and general spouting of hate. Of course I didn't realize that is what I was doing. I thought what I was doing was spreading love. I consider myself blessed that I was able to break free of the bondage of religion and can now express my true self.
A great man once said, "You must be the change that you want to see in the world." I hope to change every day.
You're right, that isn't what Jesus taught. I'm not sure, but I'm guessing your argument here is that Christianity according to Jesus would not have Osama Bin Laden executed, especially if forgiven and changed into a new man through belief in the teachings of Christ, and so a Christian viewpoint that says Bin Laden still must die is one that is not in line with the Christ of Christianity? That is what I got out of this, anyway. Very nice. I am saddened by how people not familiar with Christ's teachings are easily lead to believe that what is taught by people who are not Christ today and through the centuries is actually what Christ really taught or is somehow the viewpoint of all other people claiming to believe in Christ. There is much confusion on what Christianity really is because of this, and there are people against Christ based not on things that were actually taught by Christ himself but upon the non-Christian ideology of those spreading religious misinformation but yet still claiming their ideology to come from Christ.
I'm sure there was a way to say all that in fewer words, but I didn't know how to condense it at the time.
