I was once a Evangelical Christian. I did the whole laying on of hands, speaking in tongues and general spouting of hate. Of course I didn't realize that is what I was doing. I thought what I was doing was spreading love. I consider myself blessed that I was able to break free of the bondage of religion and can now express my true self.
A great man once said, "You must be the change that you want to see in the world." I hope to change every day.
True enough. :-) It is rare for someone that believes they are listening to the voice of God to admit that they might not know what they are doing.
The characters of Ted and Bambi are both based a great deal on myself. Bambi being the contemporary me (kind of. She is more fundamental with her Atheism than I am) and Ted represents what I was almost 30 years ago. The questions that are going through Ted's mind right now, and the development of his character, somewhat echo what I went through way back then.
I have been reading that site. I'm not sure they are serious. I know that the Conservapedia are serious, but I don't think these guys are. It looks like someone trying to pretend to be serious and creating a satirical web site in the process. There are just too many 'punch lines' for it to be serious.
